The mission of MP Consulting Services is to bring transparency to the building experience. In the same manner as a commercial construction “GMP” (Guaranteed Maximum Price) contract arrangement, our clients see for themselves the cost of the work for each trade, insurance and project management expenses, and the profit by our company, in an “open book” manner.
Our estimates have each trade scope of work, and cost, broken down so it is clear to our clients what work is included, and what that work will cost them. There are no hidden fees or expenses, and no unexplainable “change orders” down the road.
We strive to be a trustable organization. We always act in our client’s best interest, period.
Too many times in our industry, the design team is hired before the construction manager/general contractor, and the construction documents are completed before the client knows how much the project will cost them. At that point, it is too late! The project will incur re-design fees before a shovel is put into the ground…
Ideally the construction manager is involved early in the conceptual phase of the project, forming a baseline estimate for the design team to work towards.
Then, continual budget updates during the construction document process, to make sure the budget is maintained while preserving the architect and client’s design intent, as well as performing constructability reviews of the documents to avoid costly scope change orders during construction.
This process assists our clients in knowing where their project budget is headed before the design process is complete!
